Draw 5 squares on a page in your sketchbook or separate paper. In each square draw one of the following textures, you must include them all: Hatching, Crosshatching, Scumbling, Smudging, and Linear Texture. This will be entered as a quiz grade so be sure to label the textures so I know that you know what they are!

Today, you will only have one attempt available, but I promise to give you more opportunities to get them all right if we need them.

Give us examples of cartoons you guys watch or have watched in the past. What is it you like about the cartoon? Is the artwork realistic or simplistic? Does it use realistic colors or a whole new set of colors and patterns? Is it black and white? Do the lines of the drawings vary or are they the same throughout? What is it about this artwork you like better than others? You don't have to specifically answer these questions, however give some thought to what the artwork really looks like.
