This could include media, subjects, or questions. Thanks guys, this is a very open project and there really isn't a wrong way to do this other than meeting the general requirements which will be posted at a little later date.

Sketchbook Assignment #1: On a page in your sketchbook draw the three basic shapes. Then below these, draw the shapes again on and angle and outline the contained space to make a form. Last, redraw your forms and use shading to add depth.

In doing this, you should notice a triangle can represent two different forms and a circle (representing a sphere) can only be achieved with shading.

Turn in your google slides portfolio here. You should include your final cartoon self-portrait, a sketch leading up to the cartoon self-portrait, final pop art piece, and a portfolio reflection. The rubric for scoring is attached to this assignment.

The layout should look like: slide 1: Cover (name and title), slide 2: Cartoon sketch (or both cartoon sketch and final cartoon), slide 3: Cartoon final (if not in previous slide, if it is then move remaining slides up) slide 4: Pop art piece, and slide 5: reflection of portfolio work.

Complete a rough sketch or two of yourself as a character in your chosen design. This could be a portrait traced from a photograph in outline form (using contour lines). This could also be turning yourself into an animal character or something that shows your personality more than physical resemblance. Give us examples of cartoons you guys watch or have watched in the past. What is it you like about the cartoon? Is the artwork realistic or simplistic? Does it use realistic colors or a whole new set of colors and patterns? Is it black and white? Do the lines of the drawings vary or are they the same throughout? What is it about this artwork you like better than others?You don't have to specifically answer these questions, however give some thought to what the artwork really looks like.
