Summer Enrichment Opportunities

  • Summer Discovery: Summer Discovery is a pre-college enrichment program for high school and middle school students that combines academics with fun, activities, and sports. Students experience college life while gaining independence, self-confidence, and social skills. Courses are taught by university instructors and students live on campus, exploring university towns for a robust, complete pre-college summer experience.

  • Oxbridge Academic Programs: Oxbridge Academic Programs has been welcoming intellectually adventurous students to summer study programs since 1986. Professor James Basker designed these programs for students in grades 7-12 with the goal of giving them the opportunity to live and study in historic centers of learning. Today we offer programs in England, France, Spain, and the United States. Students choose two subjects in which to immerse themselves - a major and a minor - from a range of over 200 courses. Popular options include Medicine, Law, Business, and Psychology.

  • SUMMET (CO School of Mines): SUMMET combines course work, hands-on projects, industry tours, sporting activities and social events. This program provides exposure to the lifestyle, opportunities and challenges of college to help build skills and experiences for a smooth transition in the future. SUMMET students stay in Mines’ residence halls, experience life as a college student and participate in STEM related curriculum instruction.

  • Duke Pre-College Summer Programs: Duke Pre-College Programs provide academically motivated middle and high school students with rigorous learning experiences. Building on the legacy of Duke University programs, including Youth Programs and the Talent Identification Program (TIP), Duke Pre-College Programs inspire and challenge the next generation of problem-solvers. Our diverse selection of courses is designed to bring the Duke experience to current 6th-11th graders through cutting-edge topics featuring Duke guest speakers, researchers and resources.

  • Smith Summer: Explore your academic interests while learning more about yourself. Join other motivated high school students who want to be engaged, get inspired and expand their experiences both in and out of the classroom. Be part of supportive community led by Smith faculty, staff and undergraduate students. All programs are for young women, female-identified or gender-nonconforming students who will be entering grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 in fall 2022.
